I'm having a hard time getting my bearings. The quest structure is causing me some confusion in part because of the expansions in this Complete Edition of the game. I arrived in Vener and the game informed me that the quest was updated with the expansions. I was confused because I was also informed that I should be at a higher level. As it turns out that isn't true, or I don't think it's true and only time will tell.

One thing that is starting to bother me, I'm not leveling up fast enough. I'm level 3 and I am about to embark on a quest in an area that suggests level 5. So I fool around then head back to the last area that was a suggested level 1 and do a Quest Board quest and then take on some enemies. While I gain experience, I haven't gained a level yet. So I, in the end, just decided to move on and take my chances. Hopefully, by completing these main quests I'll get more experience and gain levels faster.

I need to remember to take advantage of all the tools at my disposal. Remembering that I have magic would be a great start. Also varying up my attacks. Those wild dogs are vicious. Additionally saving often. I died in an area while attempting to take on a small group of enemies and died which required me to go back farther than I would have liked. I think I have the game autosave every 10 minutes. I'm not fond of this type of saving scheme because it can result in my getting into some scrapes with enemies and then dying immediately. It hasn't been a major problem this playthrough, but I foresee me spending 100+ hours in the game and finding myself in that specific situation.

I do think about this game when I'm not playing it. That's a good sign. However, if the game gets to a point where it offers more challenge than I am willing to invest, I'm afraid I will lose interest. I think I can drop the difficulty during the game so I may do that before I retire the game completely.
