I have previously said that any kind of 4K snobbery is out of the question for my new single-GPU rig, but as it turns out that wasn't entirely accurate. From what I'd been reading prior to upgrading, it seemed that anything above 1920*1080 would be unrealistic even on the comparatively powerful GTX 980. But as long as some compromises are made in the effects departement and 30 FPS isn't seen as the end of the world (it never has been for me), there are actually a few current titles which run reasonably well - at least on a regular 1080 gaming monitor with Nvidia's convenient downsampling method. The key thing is of course that the increased resolution is used as a logical substitute for GPU-intensive anti-aliasing techniques.
Ubisoft's The Crew is a relatively undemanding new release and as such produces a dependable frame rate in 4K (again, downsampled to 1080 because I don't have a bigger monitor) on my 980 card.
