Demonicon playthrough on hard Part 06 Cassio... because one "sister next door" was not enough
0For all the information and all the 'whys', please read the description of Part 1 of this playthrough. This is another section of the game on the highest difficulty (initially available since there is yet a higher difficulty level you unlock after you beat the game).
In this part: back to the City of Warunk. After the investigation in the swamps and the whole plot with Ghamat, Cairon goes back to his father just to learn that another Awakened has appeared in Warunk and is looking for Cairon. It turns out that she somehow knows how to free all the Awakened from their predestined fate. Aaand of course it is a female character, aaand of course she is probably Cairon's sister, aaaand of course there are various dialogues "with context". The devs sometimes even don't give you any choice but to choose between two options: "I love my sister" vs. "I find my other sister sexy"... Anyway, the game showed some mercy and instead of reusing the same city areas AGAIN, it introduced a completely new district which actually is used only for a short bit compared to the previous chapters and other sections of the city. It is weird that the devs used the Kreutz Alley, which is just a narrow corridor with several points of interest, so many times and yet used another, much bigger map just for a short story mission. There are clearly some bits of it that seem to have been intended for some story or side missions, but maybe the devs were in a rush and skipped a part of the game? Perhaps they cut some content out? All in all, this part follows the mission with Cassio, Azaril's former student. In the end, Cairon must fight her and strikes a deal with a demon. This is one of the main vices of this game - it makes you feel that you can do something to save a specific character, get a good ending, and they you just discover that all your choices and efforts in the last few hours were in vain. BUT, I must admit that all the boss fights so far have been creative and required a bit of try and error tactics. Surprisingly, I managed to beat Cassio pretty quickly, though initially the fight looked much harder. Zhulgaroth, the summoned demon who is also the same demon summoned years before by Azaril, reveals a secret to Cairon: there are seven seals which must be broken in order to free the demon from Azaril's service and free the awakened from their compulsion to kill each other. Zhulgaroth teleports Cairon to an old monastery where it all began. There, he meets Calandra who... built up an army, started a revolution against Azaril and wants to create a new religion... for some reason.
