For all the information and all the 'whys', please read the description of Part 1 of this playthrough. This is another section of the game on the highest difficulty (initially available since there is yet a higher difficulty level you unlock after you beat the game).

In this part: this is the last stretch of the game. Cairon rushes into Moloch Mountain (again) to catch up with Calandra and face Zhulgaroth. I must admit, the last boss fight is interesting, as most of the major fights in the game. However, I cannot resist the impression that the whole second part of the game was rushed beyond belief. The devs had huge plans for the whole game, with intricate story and creative locations, and yet the climax and the final decisions seem irrational... or even stupid. To sum up this game, I need to focus on the main aspect of the story and certain expectations it evokes. All the awkward "relationship" between a brother and a sister aside, throughout the game, the player has a growing feeling that the main character will have to make a huge decision at the end of the game, that is obvious, but the player also expects that one of the given options will be to save both of the siblings and live happily ever after. Perhaps you might have noticed: although I played on the highest difficulty, I did not invest into demonic powers at all (except for the first spell from the tutorial). You might have also noticed that I am wearing a shitty talisman with no actual stat boost - the talisman is an item Calandra gives Cairon at the beginning of the game. It is her lucky talisman. Now, I need to explain. At some point of the game I noticed that when you choose an aggressive reply to an NPC - Cairon's face changes, manifesting his demon side. That is why I assumed that investing points into demonic powers might be a hidden mechanic - that Cairon's soul might be saved by simply rejecting them. As for the talisman, I thought similarly about Calandra. Her attitude changed throughout the game so I thouht that there might be a huge decision at the end of the game and the only true way to save Calandra's sould would be... for the Cairon to wear the medalion because "true love" can beat anything, right?
And yet everything is brought to a simple conclusion - you choose to either sacrifice Cairon or Calandra, no questions asked. Calandra briefly sums up Cairon's (player's) attitude towards her in the game in various scenes - that seems fine but depending on Cairon's dialogue option (either friendly or not) Callandra says two completely different things. Her reasoning in both cases is contradictory, so cotradictory that one might think it is intentional - she is deceiving the player until the very end of the game and when Cairon sounds unruly, she simply makes snappy, angry comments IN THE FINAL SCENE. No true confessions - just hostility and superficial reactions. This is why I think the game's story is a big disappointment. You just sacrifice one of the main characters, their last conversation is deprived of any deeper emotions (you can even tell Calandra "Kill yourself, I don't love you", like what?). That is why I think that the second part of the game was rushed or just badly written. Do not get me wrong, it is an interesting title, even with its "weird" sub-plots. The music is great and very atmospheric, the combat is okay if you played some wooden, old action RPGs in your life. A nice title to spend a week or two, if you want a break from major releases.
Although this is the last part of this playthrough, I will try beating the game on the highest difficulty and choosing other options in the story (just to get the missing achievements). Wish me luck. More videos will follow :)!
