Dig Dug Famicom / NES CRT TV Playthrough asmr
3Released 6/4/1985, Dig Dug for Famicom is an extremely faithful port of the Namco arcade classic, recently made more famous by Stranger Things. One of a handful of Namco arcade ports that never made it to the NES, this game also has better sound (read: less ear-piercing) like Galaxian and a few others.
You play as a smurf-inspired character named Dig Dug who must rid his garden of underground pests. Using an air pump as his weapon, he inflates Fygars and Pookas until they burst. One notable aspect of these enemies is their method of phasing/teleporting through solid rock. The Fygars are spiritual biological entities and the Pookas are their robotic surveillance drones. Namco again seems to be engaging in "ancient astronaut theorist" speculation. There are shape-shifting reptilian aliens living underground in secret bases!
I am considering a playthrough to be beating the Hi-Score. I played on an original NES with a Game Genie adapter (see Shorts) to allow for playing a Famicom cartridge. I am using a NES Advantage controller, RCA cables, and a Sharp X-Flat 27" CRT TV.
