Chack'n Pop Famicom / NES CRT TV Playthrough asmr
2Released 5/24/1985, Chack'n Pop for Famicom is Taito's port of their own arcade game of the same name. You play as Mr. Chack'n and are trying to restore the lost love between you and your sweetheart, Ms. Chack'n. This spiritual predecessor to Bubble Bobble has many familiar faces from the series, but the gameplay is quite different. You can extend your legs and throw bombs as well as gain temporary invincibility. You must free hearts that will clear your blocked path, all while protecting yourself with carefully placed bombs.
What's the underlying meaning of this game? The pill pusher inches toward your death. Pink elephants, er, I mean monstas, invade your space. You are trying to unlock your heart and regain your love... This is a game that subtly suggests regaining intimacy with your partner requires giving up drugs and alcohol!
I am considering a playthrough to be beating the Hi-Score. I played on an original NES with a Game Genie adapter (see Shorts) to allow for playing a Famicom cartridge. I am using a NES Advantage controller, RCA cables, and a Sharp X-Flat 27" CRT TV.
