Field Combat Famicom / NES CRT TV Playthrough asmr
Released 7/9/1985, Field Combat for Famicom is an excellent port by Tose of Jaleco's arcade original. Essentially a war game with futuristic weapons, you play as the Genesis, a flying saucer with a tractor beam and missiles. Any objects or enemies you suck up can be redeployed by pushing the A and B buttons simultaneously. However, generally it's best to use the Genesis alone in the early stages.
The gameplay on Field Combat is incredibly unique and an early example of realtime strategy. It's a shame it never made it to the NES, but the subject matter explains the reason. You see another perspective on UFO phenomena by a different Japanese developer. Apparently Jaleco thinks the flying saucers people see are futuristic U.S. military weaponry. 🤔 But where did the U. S. military get the technology? 👽
I am considering a playthrough to be beating the Hi Score. I played on an original NES with a Game Genie adapter (see Shorts) to allow for playing a Famicom cartridge. I am using a NES Advantage controller, RCA cables, and a Sharp X-Flat 27" CRT TV.
