Welcome to the second map of 3 where I rip my hair out for a good couple hours trying to complete the rest of Crumpets. Jokes aside, this map isn't actually as bad as I thought it would be. I would definitely say Masquerade was quite a bit harder. That doesn't mean that this map wasn't hard, because it damn was!
The main difficulty I found was the start. It's hot and crowded, lots of hitscanners and mid tier enemies ready to ruin your day. What I tend to do is skip the first small fight and just wake everything up in the central part of the map. Then I wait for the hell knights to at least move out of the room with the rocket launcher so that I can squeeze through and hide for the first third of the map. You have a lot to keep track of in this fight. The revenants will chase you and try and hit you with their fireballs (be absolutely careful since they can do up to 80 damage). Then you have the hell knights which act as ammo sponges, along with imps that block you and chaingunners that chip your health down constantly. It is a brutal start that requires little practice and a lot of luck to complete.
The next fight is also pretty hard. An arch vile along with revenants will do a ton of damage whilst a mancubus and baron tries to snipe you. Try and get them to infight and take care of the arch vile. The pillar with the baron is your safest place to hide, however don't heavily rely on it since the baron can still attack you.
Once you've cleared both of those fights, it's not too challenging after that. You now have the BFG which nerfs a lot of these fights significantly as well as a lot of health thanks to the fight with the megasphere. Just be good with your BFG shots, hope your tracers are high rolls and you'll come out just fine.
It seems as if i've talked less about this map than the last map, but that goes to show how much harder the last map is. Most of the hard fights require good luck along with movement and strategy. This is seriously a good wad for when you want to indulge into harder stuff, as it introduces you to the likes of Ribbiks (who is notorious for making hard maps) and opens you up to more demanding combat scenarios.
The next map coming is said to be the hardest map in crumpets, wish me luck friends!
