https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/s-u/talosian Now for the 5th wad that I personally chose for Season #13, and in the sea of 1997 wads it stands out for the atmosphere and the effort that the Black Star Coven put into it, This group consisted of John Bye, Malcom Sailor (of Chord Series fame), Dan Huff, Brian Owens, and Ola Bjorling and like The Innocent Crew before them, they left a legacy with this 20 map megawad.

Released on June 19th 1997 and place at 6th out of the top 10 wads for 1997 in the top 100 wads of all time, The Talosian Incident doesn't really have a story but we've landed on the planet Talosian (likely) and it's crawling with hellspawn. For a 1997 wad The Talosian Incident's maps are much cleaner and more refined than most with it being among the first to use smoothed lighting (though I do agree with some that it can get a bit too dark in later levels).

The placement of ammo and health is quite respectable for this 1997 megwad, It never felt like I was struggling with getting through levels aside from having to find a few very *devious* fake walls that were hiding much needed plasma ammo, There's not really much negative in this megawad with only a few hard to reach timed doors in the later levels being annoying, And with this megawad it feels like a hidden gem that never gets old.
