Exit Fate #2 - Bandit Cave
Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.

Time to see how combat plays out, but first, a quick primer on some basic stats.
Str/Mag - Power of physical/magical attacks respectively.
Pdf/Mdf - Tanking capabilities for physical/magical attacks.
Spd - How often a character's turn comes in combat.
Acc - Physical accuracy.
Dex - Represents the character's ability to dodge physicals. For enemies, this also represents how likely they are to resist critical hits.
Skl - Critical hit chance.
Mp+ I'll get to in just a bit when the first fight kicks off.
Stat wise...Daniel, Angel, and Jovian are fairly equal. Daniel's a bit more geared towards magic, Angel's the most accurate, and Jovian's the physical brute. These stats can potentially get a buff if a character has a relationship bonus with another party member in the frontline.
For relationships, there's four ranks with A being the highest, then B, C, and then the lowest, F. The higher the rank, the stronger the stat boost...unless you have an F relation. Then you get a stat penalty.
With that out of the way...the trio runs into some people that have clearly decided to make this cave their own. Judging by their response, they aren't exactly in the best of moods and need to be given a swift rear end kicking.
Combat's pretty simple to figure out. Turn order is seen on the bottom of the screen.
Characters are in a 3x3 grid on your side. The further back they are, the more physical defense they gain at the expense of physical damage unless he/she is using a long range weapon. Anyone behind another character can't be targeted by physicals unless they're of the long range variety.
Finally...the mp of each character starts at a level determined by their mp+ stat and goes up by that amount each turn they get in battle.
As for the enemies the trio's fighting, the damage they do isn't super high and they're very inaccurate. Everyone can wail away with physicals until they fall.
At the end of battle, you get your usual exp & money. Levels take 1000 exp per level up, but you get more if you're lower level than the enemies and less if you're higher.
Also of note...healing used. If you have any healing spells remaining and the necessary mp to cast it, the game automatically uses them up to heal party members.
After the fight ends, the goal's simple...find the bandit leader and give him a similar rear end kicking. Simple enough!
Random battles can trigger in this area as indicated when a bribe prompt comes up. You can opt out of the fight by paying the stated Arn fee if you so wish.
Enemy wise, there's long range variants of the Bandits who aren't much of a threat and Bats who can be rather annoying with their Ice Mist skill. Can do a decent chunk of damage to Jovian due to his lower magic defense and being the opposite element (fire) of the Ice Mist skill (ice). More importantly, Ice Mist can inflict the blind status, lowering physical accuracy.
From the first room, move north into the next room, then east into a small room with a Spark spell in a chest. Costs 21 mp for non fire innate characters to casts.
Heading back west out of the room, the path's pretty linear from here with a couple of forks in the road. The first one leads to a dead end, but the second one you see leads to a room with a White Ash (item that deals light elemental damage to a target) and a Brown Herb (heals a target for 100 hp). Items must be equipped to be used in battle.
When you hit the next save point, make sure that White Ash is equipped on Daniel. Attack items run off the magic stat of the one that uses them. Everyone should also have a Brown Herb equipped. Toss that Silver Dust (40 hp healing for the entire party) on too.
In the next room, the trio finds the bandit leader. I believe a good 'ol beatdown with a boss theme (Kanon/Solid's battle theme from Wild Arms 2) starting up!
The Bandit Leader gets some...ahem, "assistance" by a trio of Bandits. That would be a bit of a concern were they not of the ranged variety.
The Bandit Leader has three attacks...his normal strike that does 15-20+ damage, Wild Flurry for 25-30+ damage to a target, and Row Strike that hits about as hard as his normal strike on a row.
Daniel should pop that White Ash immediately on the leader, then everyone dogpiles him with regular strikes. Use healing if anyone falls to or below 40 hp and he should go down rather quickly, letting you mop up his buddies.
After the battle, the bandit dingus gets taken into custody. Soon though, the trio won't be able to take on fun adventures like this.
Next time, the war begins.
