Exit Fate #11 - Rebel Uprising
Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.

Back in Matrech with our task to check in with Erin to see if there's any important jobs to do. On the way to her room, Daniel runs into a guy who introduces himself as Vosch, the governor of Matrech. Vosch seems none too happy to see a Kirgard citizen like Daniel in their ranks...and not exactly unfounded either, seeing as though it hasn't been that long since the Kelsinger Pass incident.
Once he leaves, enter Erin's room to find out she does have a task for Daniel to perform. Turns out some rebels in the Highland region have taken over a mining town. Not the most serious threat, but it could harm the iron & coal trade that the region relies on. Daniel is to go drive out the rebels from the mining town, simple as that.
After the meeting's over, Ljusalf & Ayara both want to help Daniel with this mission as you choose your party members. Both of them must be included in the team, but they can be put in the entourage slots if you're not utilizing them in combat.
When you're all ready to go, exit Matrech and head southwest to the mountain range to find an entrance into the mountain pass that'll lead to the Highland region.
At the entrance, Daniel's squad is met by one of the knights of Matrech, Jasper. He's the one spearheading the mission to retake the mining town. As such, Daniel's squad will be assisting him with the task as Jasper temporarily joins the party for this very short dungeon.
Few new enemies in this area like the Hill Orcs who have Steel Bracer to steal. They sell for 375 Arn a pop. Pretty nice if Joe can steal any. That's not all he gets to steal though.
The other notable enemy is the Hermit. Not a huge threat combat wise, but it does have a Brown Clay steal, something that will be needed to recruit a future character. You don't have to get this now since it'll be awhile before it can be put to use.
Partway through the mountain pass, Jasper decides now's a good time to tell Daniel to leave the country. Obviously the whole Kirgard citizen arc gets used again, but it seems in this case it's more that Jasper wants to protect Erin...moreso than Matrech or even Zelmony. The matter quickly gets dusted aside as, regardless of how Jasper feels, this mission must be carried out.
After some more enemies getting roasted, the team arrives at the western exit of the pass. Jasper's left the cavalry units at home due to the vast mountainous regions impeding their movement a fair bit. Infantry & archers are fair game as is a squad of mages which Ljusalf gets to command. You're then given the chance to arrange your war parties for the upcoming battle.
War parties have your commander units like Daniel, Ljusalf, and, if you recruited him, Outlander. Each commander can take up to three sub commander who provide a boost to Men (unit's hp basically). You may even get bonuses to attack, defense, and/or passive effects depending on the sub commander.
For Daniel, he takes Ayara, Stromgaard, and Joe. Ayara provides 30 men, +1 to atk & def, and the Shield passive (+2 def if the enemy counters the unit). Joe gives 25 men and the Evasion passive (25% chance to dodge an enemy attack) Stromgaard provides 25 men, +1 def, and the Mountaineer passive (+1 to movement range while on mountain tiles).
For Outsider, he takes Mike & Col. Mike gives 30 men with Col giving 25 men. Both provide the Counter passive, granting +2 atk on counters. No idea if the two passives stack, but Outsider is going to see some decent amount of combat in the upcoming battle.
Sadly for Ljusalf, he won't be getting too much combat use in the upcoming battle. He does take the two remaining units Cid & Francesca. Cid provides 20 men while Francesca provides 25 men and the Light Feet passive (+2 defense vs infantry enemy units).
Next time, war battle!
