Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.

Made it to Matrech with everyone deciding to split up and check out the city. They are to meet up at the inn once they are done, giving us a chance to look around with Daniel.

The inn everyone's going to meet up at is just a short walk north of the save point. You could honestly do that now and save the tour of town until after the cutscene barrage if you wanted to.

Before that though, the item shop is due north of the inn. Has every tier 1 stat booster accessory in stock, a bunch of different ailment curing items, and that cat that ran away at Amen Corner just chilling in a room off to the side. Make sure to chat with the feline to make it run off again.

After some more wandering around town, Daniel finally heads to the inn and takes a break until the others start filing in. Col arrives first and has some surprising news...he handed Merrick's letter over to some of his superiors in town who acted on it immediately. Shortly after, they had Col relay to Daniel that the chancellor of Zelmony wants to meet with him personally. Interesting!

Since there's still some downtime until Col takes everyone to see the chancellor, he asks Daniel a rather understandable question...what prompted him to want to join the so called enemy side and fight against his friends? Not revenge as Daniel states, but rather fight to make the fighting end, namely stopping Kirgard's invasion in his own way. There's also the matter of finding the truth about what happened at Kelsinger Pass.

Once the rest of the crew comes into the inn, the day's done and the team can go to the big castle at the north side of the city. Straight north upon entering until you find a pair of soldiers pointing you to a side room to wait in until the chancellor's ready.

While chatting with everyone, Col goes into a little of the chancellor's past and how he founded the State Union of Zelmony with nothing more than some very expert talking.

Once the chancellor's ready, the team's brought to him. He introduces himself as Ryan, but he's not alone. The chief commander of the State Army, Erin, is also present and she has a rather interesting query...what makes Daniel think this whole situation he's in right now isn't something that the State Army setup?

As Daniel claims, despite trying to seed discord in the Kirgard ranks to better help out their enemies, Daniel was the one most opposed to this current war. Trying to paint him as an eventual traitor to everything Kirgard related likely wouldn't have come to much benefit for Zelmony.

Despite all this, he's not funny convinced of his former allies' guilt. Jovian could have very well set up Daniel as a way to get him out of the picture with his anti-war ways, but there's been no hard evidence to support that theory. Daniel just wants to find out who did what and for what reason.

Seems like this was all a satisfactory response so Ryan is very curious to hear about Kirgard's plans for invading Zelmony. According to Daniel, they are unlikely to attack on a very short term, likely waiting to lull Zelmony into a false sense of security.

With all this information, Erin understandably wants to proceed as if they had never received this information. Investigating needs to be done to be absolutely sure Daniel isn't trying to sow discord into the Zelmony ranks himself.

Back at the inn, Ljusalf wants to look around town a bit more since the team has a day until they get Ryan's response. Interesting because the very next scene is him going to see an old friend of his...none other than Ryan.

As the two have a discussion, it seems Daniel is going down a path not all that different than what Ryan did in uniting Zelmony with nothing more than the power of his words. Ljusalf seems to think this is that mystical force known as destiny and that Daniel has the potential to be a force of great magnitude, perhaps even eclipsing what Ryan accomplished.

Long story short? Don't make an enemy of Daniel.

The next day, the team at the inn is greeted by the chancellor's aide, Carson. He brings some surprising news...Daniel's been accepted into the State Army, but with a unique twist...he's been given command over a new regiment of reserve troops with Erin monitoring his progress. He'll be taking orders from her for now....and honestly, that's a best case scenario for Daniel. Small steps and all that.

That's not all though. Daniel now has the power to recruit people into his army. Long story short, people like those mercs in Blackwater can be added to our team.

Next time, we're going to do quite a bit of recruiting.
