Welp, I can tell they certainly tried here, but the limitations of video games in the early 90s by the smaller developers is certainly evident. 'Family Feud' was released in 1991, developed by 'Beam Software' and published by 'Gametek'. In this NES version of Family Feud, the game tried to recreate the look and feel from the original Richard Dawson-hosted series, even going as far as to include a Dawson-like host who kissed the female characters in the game.

What's interesting about this game is that it's not exactly trivia. As you may know, Family Feud is a gameshow where they conduct a survey to 100 people and the contestants have to guess the top answers to each question. So it's not guessing the right answer per se, but rather guessing what are the most popular answers. What makes this even more interesting is playing this game in 2021 lol. You'll realize how much we've changed in the last 30 years, so it's like a gameshow/time capsule.

Anyway, in order to the beat the game, you must amass $20,000. So first, you must beat the rival family and then rack up money in the final round, 'Fast Money'. If you score more than 200 points in Fast Money, you'll be awarded $5,000. So the quickest way to beat the game, is to score 200 points in four rounds of Fast Money, which is what I did. Some of the graphics are cringe-worthy, like the 8-bit Richard Dawson kissing young girls, presumably on the lips. Or the Richard Dawson horse-like profile. The game also lacks consistent background music, which makes it seem ominous or a bit creepy.

This game did crack me up a bit and it's crazy seeing how things have changed over the last thirty years. It's worth playing a for a few minutes, but that's it!
