One of the most impressive gaming accomplishments I've ever seen is when ‪@megadan2988‬ pulled off a double no-death run in Ghosts 'N Goblins for the Original NES by Capcom. This is a game that personifies "Nintendo Hard" or "NES Hard". Designed to be a quarter muncher in the arcades, the home version kept that difficulty level. But I just discovered a hidden level select trick that lets you complete the game in under 90 seconds! And, with this trick, I was able to do a No Death Run in this game! Let's take a look:

The Hack:
At the title screen, you need to hold Right on the D-Pad and push the B button 3 times. This is the only time you push a direction and a button at the same time. Next, press up, release, and the B-Button 3 times more. Left, release, B three times, and finally down, then B 3 more times. From here, hit start, it shows you Player 1, the number of lives you have, then a new sort of menu. Pressing the A button moves the numbers and letters up to additional levels. B moves those numbers and letters down! Scroll until you see 7, hit start, and you are at the final boss!

Or are you?

See, you have to beat the final boss 2 times to actually fully beat the game. This is where the brilliance of this cheat code comes into play as you can once again, using the A and B Buttons, scroll forward or back to select what stage you want to start the game at. Scroll back to Level 7, you're back at the end of the game, kill the boss, and you have successfully beaten Ghosts 'N Goblins in under 90 seconds.

To make this cheat even more blatant, I also used a Retro-bit Origin8 Wireless controller for my HDMI-modded NES. The reason for this is that both the A and B buttons have an autofire feature, so I could jump to avoid fireballs and toss my lances at Satan by just holding down the buttons.

The good news is that this not only works with he original version on the Nintendo Entertainment System, but also on the version on the NES Switch Online Service!
