Easy Ability Farming To Make Rygar On The Original NES EASIER!
Over the years, I have been ridiculed for my tastes in many different things. From disliking genres such as RPGs, liking sports games, and more. I am blessed to have many wonderful friends involved with video games, such as Ryan at Castlemania Games and Robert from Retro Fighters. They both like to needle and mock me for my taste in games, and for some unknown reason, they both love Rygar on the Original NES from Tecmo. I bought it based on Ryan's recommendation, and I should have known, I SHOULD have known I'd hate it because before this, he recommended Demon Sword, which I despised. Well, I've been creating a number of shorts recently based on game hacks and cheats, and they both kept asking me to do something on Rygar, just to torture me. Well, I had to do a lot of research because there just wasn't much to be found, but I did eventually find something. There is an easy way you can farm ability points to make Rygar easier, and you can do so within a minute of starting the game.
At the beginning of the game, there's a pit you'll jump over rather quickly as you travel to the right. Jump over this pit, turn around, and you can now safely attack enemies to the left without risk of taking damage. This is even easier to do if you have a controller that has turbo, such as the NES Max or NES Advantage controller, so you can just hold the button down to attack.
About Rygar
The NES version of Rygar casts you as the legendary warrior Rygar, who is resurrected to save the land of Argool from the evil dominator Ligar. Ligar has stolen the Door of Peace, plunging the once prosperous land into darkness and subjugating its people, including the five legendary Indora Gods.
To progress, you must find five essential items guarded by bosses, often within temple-like structures. These items, such as the grappling hook, pulley, and crossbow, grant access to new areas and allow you to overcome obstacles. Hints are sometimes provided by cryptic, shirtless hermits found throughout the land.
The ultimate goal is to reach Ligar's floating sky castle and defeat him to restore peace to Argool. While the game presents a non-linear world, there's generally a set order in which you need to acquire the items and defeat the bosses. Rygar on the NES blends action, platforming, and light RPG elements, offering a unique and challenging adventure for its time.
