We have to clear the light boss rush mode before we can fight the boss that gives us the achievement the title of this video comes from. Unfortunately for this mode, you only have Elena and Millenia with you, but Millenia's magic stat is really, really high and can do very respectable damage. Sadly, by the time you can really do a number on people with spells, Millenia makes scarce appearances so you can't really take advantage of it. Plus I don't like having her as a dedicated caster earlier than this since she can go into her Frenzy and then you're down a character.

The good news through all of this is that you can return to the save point to heal between each fight, but if you're like me, you still have a mountain of items that never really get used anyway. I think I actually did have enough to get through here without too much trouble, but since I didn't know what the final fight was going to be like (a cake walk), I wanted to be prepared.

As for where we go from here, I could redo the game in hard mode, but since there is so little variation to be found, I don't think this is a worthwhile investment in time. All things considered, I think the Eye of Valmar would probably be the hardest boss in the game, and none of the other bosses stand out after that (sorry Melfice). Otherwise, we never meet any other Geohounds to find out why they're so despised, but this may be addressed in other Grandia games. Overall, this game feels very much like a small window into another world rather than a deep experience. There are definitely some rough patches, and I'd probably consider it to be an average level PS2 era game without anything to really set it apart from the rest of the pack. If a few of the impressive ones can make it to PC, you can see what I mean, but otherwise we're done here.

Hopefully you guys enjoy the new project. It certainly is unique...
