How to ADD GOOGLE DNS Server to PS5 Internet (Best Method)
To add Google DNS to your PS5, you need to manually change your console's network settings. This is a simple process that can improve your connection's speed and reliability for gaming.
Step-by-Step Guide
Go to Settings: From the PS5 home screen, go to the Settings icon (the gear in the top right corner).
Select Network: In the Settings menu, select Network.
Set Up Internet Connection: In the Network section, choose Settings, then Set Up Internet Connection.
Choose Your Connection: Select your current connection, either Wi-Fi or LAN (wired). A wired connection is generally recommended for the most stable and fastest gaming experience.
Go to Advanced Settings: Once you have your connection selected, press the Options button on your controller, then choose Advanced Settings.
Change DNS Settings: In the Advanced Settings menu, find DNS Settings and change it from "Automatic" to Manual.
Enter Google DNS addresses:
For Primary DNS, enter 8.8.8.8.
For Secondary DNS, enter 8.8.4.4.
Complete the Setup: Leave the other settings as they are:
IP Address Settings: Automatic
DHCP Host Name: Do Not Specify
MTU Settings: Automatic
Proxy Server: Do Not Use
Test the Connection: After entering the DNS settings, select OK to save the changes. The PS5 will then test the internet connection. You can now do a speed test to see if your download and upload speeds have improved.
