How to Connect your Mouse & keyboard to iPhone with Wired or Wireless Bluetooth
Connecting a mouse and keyboard to your iPhone can be done via wired or wireless Bluetooth methods, ideal for productivity or accessibility. Below is a concise guide for both, compatible with iPhones running iOS 13 or later. Note: Mouse support requires enabling AssistiveTouch.
Wired Connection
Requirements:
USB-C to USB-A adapter (for iPhone 15 series or newer) or Lightning to USB Camera Adapter (for older iPhones).
USB mouse and/or keyboard.
Optional: Powered USB hub for multiple devices or power-hungry peripherals.
Steps:
Plug the adapter into your iPhone’s USB-C or Lightning port.
Connect the mouse/keyboard to the adapter’s USB-A port. Use a powered hub for both devices.
For mouse: Go to Settings, Accessibility, Touch, AssistiveTouch. Turn on AssistiveTouch. Tap Devices, USB Receiver (or device name) to connect. A grey cursor appears.
For keyboard: It should work automatically in text fields.
If devices don’t work, use an Apple-certified (MFi) adapter or powered hub, as Lightning ports may report “requires too much power.”
