What is the AutoSwitch mod? Well, it is a mod for Minecraft 1.16.2 that allows you to automatically switch to the correct tool for whatever block you are trying to break in Minecraft. This is really helpful for switching tools when playing Minecraft with a laptop. Truthfully, this is one of the best laptop Minecraft mods out there. Without any more delay however, here is how to get the AutoSwitch mod in Minecraft 1.16.2.
The first step of getting the AutoSwitch mod is actually downloading and installing the Fabric mod loader. You can find the Fabric download link in the description above. Once you have it downloaded, just open it with Java and install Fabric. This is covered more in-depth in the video.
After you have Fabric installed, it is time to download AutoSwitch for Minecraft 1.16.2. You can find the official AutoSwitch download link in the description above. Once you are on the download page, look at the right-hand sidebar and scroll down until you see the “Minecraft 1.16” section. Under this, you will see a version of the AutoSwitch mod that has “1.16.2” in it. Click the purple download button to right of this mod, and the download will begin automatically. You will need to keep/save this file depending on your browser.
Repeat the above download process for the FabricAPI mod that is linked above. You must have the FabricAPI downloaded for the auto tool switching mod to work in 1.16.2.
Now, it is time to install the AutoSwitch mod. This is pretty easy just hit the Windows Key on your keyboard and ‘R’ at the exact same time. The Run application will then open up. In the text box in this app type “%appdata%”, and hit enter. You will be taken to your roaming folder. Here, you'll find a “.Minecraft” folder. Open that, and you should see a mods folder. If you don't have a mods folder, create one.
At this point, all you need to do in order to install AutoSwitcher into Minecraft 1.16.2 is drag-and-drop AutoSwitch and the FabricAPI into the mods folder.
You aren't completely done though. You still need to open up the Minecraft launcher, click the arrow next to the play button and select the “Fabric” installation. Then, click play. Minecraft 1.16.2 will then open up with the AutoSwitch mod installed!
