About this video: Millions of people make Minecraft videos every year. However, how exactly do you record Minecraft without lag? Well, in this video, we go over the mods and settings that you need to give Minecraft in order to get the most performance possible without lag while recording. So, without anymore delay, here is how to record Minecraft with no lag!
First things first, we need to download and install Optifine. Optifine is the mod that will allow us to access more video settings and increase Minecraft’s FPS while you are recording. You can find our complete guide to getting Optifine in the description above.
That tutorial covers everything that you need to know about getting Optifine for Minecraft including what to do if you have issues getting Optifine.
With Optifine downloaded, we can move on to setting up Optifine in order to reduce lag while recording Minecraft. This starts in the Minecraft Launcher though. You will want to make sure you have at least 2GB of RAM if not 4GB of RAM dedicated to Minecraft while you are recording.
Once Minecraft is open with Optifine, you will need to go through all of Optifine’s settings and optimize then to give you max performance without ruining quality. Our goal here is that you can record Minecraft without lag while still making Minecraft look good. Every individual setting for doing this is covered in the video.
After you have Optifine setup, we can move to the recording software. This is just as important as setting up Minecraft correctly. However, I’m not an expert at setting up OBS for lag reduction.
