This is a remake of an older video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djEo9s97Dcc).

This trick is inconsistent, and I'm still unsure of exactly how it works, but it is entirely possible to do in real time. After killing the Micro and rolling underneath, briefly let go of the analogue stick, and then run into the junction while holding slightly to the left of the upper notch. After picking up the Odd Engraving, dodge roll immediately to avoid the Smile.

Even if you seemingly do everything right, it's still not guaranteed to work. In general, Killer7's camera is affected by a number of factors, some very subtle, and my theory is that there are unknown, subtle factors at play preventing it from working every time. Truth be told, I'm not even sure of the precise junction angle, because holding slightly up-right can work, too. I think entering the room as Con (rather than turning into Con upon entering) increases the chances, but I'm also not 100% sure. Because of the unreliability, I wouldn't recommend it at all in Killer8 runs, and even in Normal runs, missing it does waste time.

That said, I do go for this trick in runs, and I've gotten it to work multiple times, maybe one out of every five attempts average. My goal is get the trick 100% consistent one day, but I'm at least happy that it's no longer in the sphere of "TAS-only."
