We join the two sections of dug road today! There are a few trees in the way but our Netherite axe takes care of them. To make up for our deforestation, we plant new trees along the road! Just a little more terraforming to do so that the land looks natural and we will be done with the digging!

When we first begin, we find ourselves at the top of a mountain! Gliding down, we work on raising the land so that both sides of the road are level with each other. We fly back to the mountain base to get more grass blocks as we had run out of them! Eventually we reach a semi-exposed subterranean lake and we craft some spruce planks to fill it in.

To be able to raise the land for the road, we had to chop down a spruce tree and an oak tree! Not to worry however, as we get some saplings from the leaves and plant them down in order to restore the natural vegetation in the area. This also serves to beautify the road!

Once we have covered up the pond completely, we fly up to survey the area. It is difficult to get a good look while we are falling so we land on top of the mountain. So far, the road and the landscape look great! We continue digging out the path for the future road.

At the other dug portion of the road, there are still remnants of a lake that we had not filled in yet! We grab our spruce planks and get to work, restoring the landscape of the area. There is also a small patch of land beside the road which we have not raised. Since we have the materials to do so in our inventory, we do a little terraforming around the area!

While digging away some grass, we hear an Enderman from the ground beneath us! Seems like there is still some unlit cave system near the road. We fly a distance away so the Enderman hopefully despawns and does not grief our world! Also, we want to be able to sleep without any monsters nearby to skip the night.

The next morning, we enter the cave system we previously discovered and add more light sources! Since we are out of torches, we make use of lanterns instead. A little expensive but we have an iron farm and many librarians to sell us lanterns!

We encounter a zombie in the caves and kill it. There is a cave section leading sharply upwards which we venture into and end up back on the surface! We are running low on inventory space so we place some items in our Shulker box. With some spruce planks and a lantern, we mark the point at which we exited the caves!

Afterwards, we get back to road digging. Not for very long however, as we travel back to the mountain base to trade with our villagers! At the base, we stock up on lanterns and torches in case we have to go cave exploring again. We also top up our inventory with more rockets and golden carrots.

For the road to link together, we have to get rid of more spruce trees and a small but pointy hill! As usual, we plant some saplings to replace the trees we had cut down. Then, we start to dig away at the hill, eventually exposing the stone underneath which we clear with our pickaxe.

Once we have levelled the small hill, it is only a short way to go before we reach the river! A bit more digging and we join the two sections together. This forms a continuous trench that goes from our current location all the way back to the mountain base!

We still hear some skeletons beneath our feet while working on the road! Nevertheless, we fly up back to top of the mountain to end the episode with a scenic view. I guess there are still unlit caves in the area!
