Late-Game Minecraft 171 :: Digging to Spawn - Part 4
For the first time in a while, we visit our villagers today! We keep working on the road afterwards. More terraforming needs to be done because the land is not flat enough to accommodate the road! Also, we explore the entrance to a cave system after we are annoyed by sounds of spiders!
At the iron farm, we pick up many stacks of poppies! Come to think of it, we should have checked the iron chests as well to make sure they were not overflowing. Since we have been spending so much time in the mountain base, our iron farm is always operating in the background!
Villager trading is a great source of experience, especially if the trades are very cheap! After just trading half a stack of raw cod and red dye, our tools have been fully mended. We head up to the storage room to stock up on other supplies like rockets and spruce wood!
We pick up some stone slabs and light grey glass to increase the height of the exposed skylight of our storage room! Since there is one section of the storage room that is exposed, we want to cover it up eventually with blocks like stone and grass to hide the room from the surface. When we do so, the skylight should still be visible just like all the other skylights!
Flying over to the end of the dug section of the road, we do a little digging before the sun sets and we need to sleep for the night. In the morning, we continue lowering the land so the road can be smooth! The road reaches the top of the slope where it touches the base of a steep mountain.
As we level the terrain for the road, we make sure that the slope still looks natural by adding in blocks or removing blocks to fix the curvature of the land! We hear some spider noises near the end of the road however. We head into a nearby cave entrance to investigate!
Encountering many zombies and creepers, we decide not to go too deep in and merely light up the part of the caves that are near to the surface. We have no idea how big the cave system is! Maybe we will explore it fully someday, but for now we focus on digging out the path of the road.
Because the landscape is a little steep, we need to raise the land on one side of the road and lower the land on the other! We continue to ensure that the land curves smoothly despite our modifications to the original landscape, to avoid an artificial look! For good measure, we constantly replant any flowers and tall grass that we have dug up!
While reshaping the land, we fly up frequently to various vantage points to gain a better view. We fly up to the top of the mountain with the netherrack-holding Enderman, the top of the storage trees, as well as some floating snow-covered terrain above us!
Eventually, we reach a point along the path of the road where we have to curve the road towards a valley. This valley leads south to spawn, our final destination! The terrain is curved in the same direction so we merely dig out the path while following this curve!
It is a little hard to imagine how the road will look like when it is finally paved! Perhaps we should start filling in the road next episode. We probably need to find a lot more white blocks though!
