It is somewhat of a busy day on the farm! In the evening, we look for coal in the mines as we are running low due to all the smelting of gold and iridium bars. At night, we leave the mines and look for midnight carp in the mountain lake for Demetrius's special order.

This week we are stuck with two quests that we are reluctant to do! Qi's Hungry Challenge, because we have done it many times before, and Aquatic Overpopulation, because it is a chore to complete. It is not a good luck day, so we don't bother with the Skull Cavern at all. Besides, we have many crops ready for harvest!

We check the television for the best time to fish midnight carp. Seems like they appear in the mountain lake slightly before midnight which is a little unintuitive! We make a mental note to head there earlier today so we have more time to fish.

Yesterday when we were fishing, we found a rare strange doll artefact in a treasure chest! This doll is actually quite valuable as well. This strange doll is the first one we ever find after completing the museum! We store it together with our other artefacts.

After harvesting maple syrup, mushrooms, pale ale and truffles, we head into town to buy some seeds. Along the way, we talk to various villagers, including the ladies that are gathering at Pierre's store for their weekly Tuesday exercises! We also pick fresh blackberries from the bushes around town.

Mayor Lewis laments about his old age. We have sympathy for him, since our grandpa was also a good friend of his! But actually Lewis, you have such riches that you do not need to worry at all! Just retire and enjoy your life building golden statues of yourself instead.

In the afternoon, we collect the gold bars that have smelted and fill the furnaces with iridium ore. However we soon realise that we are running out of coal! It is not a problem we have faced in a long time since we have the Prospector profession.

We harvest our yams and plant more yam seeds before heading to the Calico Desert to buy starfruit seeds. Then we spend the rest of the afternoon replanting the starfruit on Ginger Island in the rain. Once we return to Stardew Valley, we take the minecarts to the mine to look for coal!

At level 55, we can encounter dust sprites that have a very high chance of dropping coal! Or rather, mushrooms since we are in the challenging mines. The spiders are quite annoying but they have good drops as well, with the same drop table as shadow creatures!

When we leave the mines, it is almost time for midnight carp! We speak to Sebastian who seems ticked off by his stepdad, and we stop by Leo's treehouse to see how he is doing one year on. We also harvest some blackberries before stopping by the mountain lake to fish!

Even though we have a longer time to fish today, we only catch a single midnight carp... What a lousy special order by Demetrius! Now we know what it's like being in Sebastian's shoes, being told to do silly things by Demetrius every day.

At 1.40 pm, we activate the warp totem and travel back to the farm to sleep. It isn't worth it to risk passing out just for the chance of one more midnight carp!
