More progress on the road digging today! The road twists into a mountain pass towards a future bridge that goes across the river. We dig away some small hills for the road to pass through unhindered! We also do some trading with the villagers back at the mountain base.

The first thing we do is build a spruce plank staircase down into the cave entrance beside the road! In case we ever fall in without our Elytra, we would still be able to get out of the cave. Then we begin work on the road, digging away at the base of a mountain.

For the other side of the road, we build an embankment of spruce planks. This ensures that both edges of the road are level with each other! I intend to cover up the embankment with dirt to make it look natural, but that is a task for another day!

Taking a break from the digging of the road, we travel to the spawn chunks to pick up some raw chicken and feathers from our automatic chicken farm. These will be useful for trading with villagers! We place the items in our dirt and grass storage chest temporarily.

Since we have been using up so much spruce wood, we fly back to the mountain base and chop down a large spruce tree for wood. I am not too concerned about running out of spruce wood though due to our abundant supply of it in our storage room! Giant spruce trees are also easy to grow and provide a lot of wood each time!

We continue routing the road through the valley between two mountains until the sun sets. The next day, we go to trade with our villagers! In the river outside the entrance to the refugee shelter, many squid are swimming around which means free ink sacs for us!

After trading, we pick up some spruce saplings and sticks from the decaying leaves of the spruce tree that we had chopped. We place these in our farming chest before flying back to the mountain pass to continue digging out the path of the road.

Our shears are getting low on durability, so we craft a new one! In order to repair our old shears without wasting any durability, we shear some sheep with the new pair of shears. Since we will need the white wool for our road, we store the white wool in our construction materials chest!

Past the gap in the mountains, the terrain sinks down into a valley filled with trees. Our road has to sink down as well, and we place spruce planks at the places where slabs would go in the future. In the middle of the day, we fly back to the mountain base to trade with our villagers!

We also pick up more raw cod from some temporary chests we placed near the entrance to the iron farm, and check the iron farm chests as well to make sure they are not overflowing. However, judging from the amount of poppies we have collected, it seems like the iron farm is no longer running! Likely we are too far away from the iron farm for it to stay loaded within the game.

A bit more digging down the slope and we end the episode for today. We had to clear two spruce trees that were in the path of the road but we manage to avoid an oak tree! I intend to replant the two spruce trees next time, so that there is more nature to see along the road.
