Let's Play Donkey Kong Country - Part 11: Mine Once More
We're now in the final world of the game, Chimp Caverns. This one seems to be mine-themed...again. For whatever reason, they decided not to give this one much of a unique theme. There are rumors that it was originally intended to be a lava-themed world (and the map is apparently reddish-colored in the GBA version of the game), but it wasn't, and in compensation, DKC2 ended up having a lava world early on. We start things off with Tanked Up Trouble, 6-1, which has a platform on a track similar to Trick Track Trek, but this one has a fuel gauge represented by five colored lights. If the fuel runs out, the platform falls down, and you must refill it by picking up fuel barrels. (This one also has another bonus in a really stupid location...) 6-2, Manic Mincers, is a cave level full of those spiked wheel things (presumably called Manic Mincers), and that's about all there is to it, though Rambi does make an appearance. 6-3, Misty Mine, is a mine level (one of the kind on stone platforms rather than wood) with really ambient music and a lot of enemy-spawning drums.
