I picked this game up from the Racial Justice bundle from itch.io.

I am not sure if Hotel Paradise is an exercise in exquisite trolling, or if it's actually trying to tell me something. I guess there's a point where it can be both.

The premise of Hotel Paradise is simple: You have a room key in your hand (you can look down to see it) with a room number. All you have to do is find your room! It took me 20 minutes to find my room. That's because the never-ending hallways are connected in some sort of random construction. I've no idea if there's a pattern to it or not, but if there is a pattern I surely didn't find it. Along the way you'll be treated to tasteful artwork, and a small rotation of musak that only comes from one overhead speaker, so it's constantly fading in and out as you walk. It's purgatory or hell, depending on your perspective.

When you find your room, you are rewarded.

This was such a weird experience. Again, I don't know if this game was trying to teach me something about me, the universe, or whatever... or if it is just trolling me in the most pleasant way possible. I didn't hate it and in-fact I found it somewhat meditative until I found a hallway that was 1 number off from my key. At that point I flew into a rage. I gotta say though, the level of joy I felt when I actually found my room was... way more than I expected it to be. It was a true victory.
