This might be Max Payne's darkest hour. Literally, this video is friggin' dark. It gets a little lighter once Max reaches outdoors, though.

0:00 - Loading Chapter 2-3. The Checkpoint starts with colors very dark and desaturated. Max also lacks a gun. It's possible to play onward in the level like normal despite these obstacles, and eventually the graphics become fixed at Chapter 2-7.

1:05 - the dark outdoors area with the bright skybox looks quite apocalyptic, somehow.

1:15 - I continue onward in the level to show how things look elsewhere with this glitch active.

2:29 - meeting ex-cop amidst the darkness. ...Is this like some strange power outage or something?

3:19 - entering Chapter 2-6 amidst the darkness.

3:52 - entering Chapter 2-7 amidst the darkness. Then, the messed up lighting becomes fixed right after Chapter 2-7 intro.

5:41 - Loading Chapter 2-4. Colors are dark and desaturated. In addition to this, Max has spawned under the map and will immediately fall down as the gameplay begins, and this will kill him.

However, it turns out that turning glitched Pause-menu on makes Max immune to fall damage. So this way you can make Max survive the fall to the bottom, and explore under the map a bit with the dark colors.

6:47 - Loading Chapter 2-7. Nothing new, you just get glitched lighting until the end of the intro, and after that things seem to be pretty normal.

6:58 - Loading Chapter 2-8. The game colors are dark and desaturated and the skybox looks blank and eerie. It's possible to play onward in the game despite the strange visuals, and the lighting becomes fixed after reaching Chapter 2-12.

7:20 - I proceed to play onward in the helicopter section to show how it looks like in these colors.

8:44 - Loading Chapter 2-14. The Checkpoint is not fully loaded and Max is somewhere under the ground, dying immediately as gameplay starts. The same result repeats every time you retry.

9:02 - bonus clip: psycho-LMS in Chapter 2-4 during Continue glitch.

9:34 - bonus clip: psycho-LMS in Chapter 2-6 during Continue glitch.

9:58 - bonus clip: I did future data at Chapter 2-4. At the end, the thugs were not in t-poses, but in something a little weirder. Wonder what's up with that? Continue glitch has such varied effects that it might cause even bigger differences to future data somewhere... but I guess testing it more thoroughly is not a priority right now.

(Not on the vid: Chapter 2-2 is seemingly normal.)

(Not on the vid: Chapter 2-5 gives you the message "Dead" immediately as the Checkpoint begins. Choosing to retry softlocks the game.)

(Not on the vid: in Chapter 2-6, Max died some time during loading, and the game is already in "Retry / Quit" selection as gameplay starts. Trying to retry makes the game load a fairly long time before you get the "Retry / Quit" selection on your screen again.)

(Not on the vid: all other helicopter ride Checkpoints are either normal or create redundant results.)
