Samus' Log: "The damages my suit have sustained in my clash with Mother Brain are even more extensive than I first thought. My movements at times become sluggish, awkward. I can not even walk in a straight line at times. But I was repaired by the Galactic Federation...wasn't I? I...I'm not so sure anymore..."

________

Welcome back to Resident Evil! At least, I think that's what the game is going for here. Apparently having a third person AND first person experience wasn't enough, so they'll swing that camera in close and slow the experience down significantly!

I really hope the awkwardness of the controls comes across here. You'll see me starting and stopping constantly as I move to turn. It just feels...wrong. All throughout the game the 3D movement is wonky, and I've noticed during certain parts the game almost feels on-rails. If I hold the D-Pad down in one direction and come to a turn, sometimes Samus will automatically turn with it, like in a curved corridor. Maybe they should have just made the game 2D and we wouldn't have all these controller foibles.

So we're off to investigate the exam center and just WHAT do we find? A cybernetic Zebesian? Well, that can't be any good. And once we find our way back to Maurice to see what he's learned...time for more bad dialogue from Samus! Maurice JUST told you this place is for bioweapons (dun-dun-DUN!!!) and you're gonna ask it again? You're not Snake, so no parroting for you!

And more of Samus telling us about Adam, while he's fairly silent about the whole matter...At any rate, we have a new priority: find this Madeline Bergman.

Continuing our search, it seems there was more of those cyborg Space Pirates where that came from! And thus begins a bit of a brawl! I admit the game does make things pretty cinematic at times, and the fight has it's style. The constant dodges and attacks the Zebesians get off look nice at least. Not a fan of getting sucker punched the moment I get control though.

We're also starting to see some issues with the combat: namely that missiles are so important here due to their power...but when fighting a group of enemies (especially ones that are as mobile as Space Pirates) it becomes harder and harder to get a shot off. If they could have made firing missiles more fluid, it'd be fine, but sadly it takes too much time. So I try to thin the herd with Samus's charge beam...and it's weakstuffs. That or a missile will stun them and let me get a Lethal Strike off, I forget. Either way, I'm not doing this as efficiently as I can, I'm sure.

Next time things will really start to pick up though, but this save point seemed pretty good to stop this part. I knew what was coming up next and had been dreading it since starting this game. Tune in next time to see what had me so troubled!
