At least they haven't tried to reverse engineer my Morph Ball ability...such experiments haven't been pleasant in regards to the Space Pirates...or so I hear."

The pacing of this game makes for odd videos. Today we fight a boss, get some story bits, and then head to a new area! Ideally, I'd like to keep a boss to it's own video, but then we'd have a five minute video...maybe I ought to have put this fight at the end of the LAST video, huh?

Our team is being attacked by what is officially known as "Mystery Creature." Not the most creative of names, is it? I really...really hate this boss. The first forced-first-person encounter, we're pinned down, so we HAVE to look this thing right in the face. The weak point is it's tail...and for SOME reason shooting the face is NOT an option. I can't tell you how many times I died on my first playthrough here. The tail is irritatingly quick and does tons of damage, not to mention it's a big troll with how it moves back and forth, faking you out! I'm surprised I beat it in one go, really.

The monster retreating, Anthony helps us up. ("I'll save the next shot for you." Uh....does that mean you want to shoot ME?!) Seems that we're all OK...except for Lyle! Oh Lyle! I knew you...not well at all, actually! Adam seems particularly nonchalant about his death. In fact, no one seems to care much. His body is like a "pile of rags" but we don't get to see it.

This quick little first-person section ALSO tripped me up quite a bit when I first played. The game seems to put quite a bit of emphasis on Lyles body and that's where you're given full control...but you're meant to look BEHIND YOU. How many people would think to do that?! And here we get another reveal....that little white fluffy thing...molted. Considering we're tailing this Mystery thing and it also bleeds green blood...I assume you can put two and two together. But yes, onwards to the Pyrosphere, Sector 3!

You'll grow to hate this place, I'm sure! Full of flaming enemies and heat damage! Oh, but Samus' Varia Suit negates heat damage so just...no? I'll rant about this more next part, but it is completely idiotic that Samus can't equip that suit here. Just....WHY?! For what reason would Adam have to not let her equip it? Why does Samus have no self-preservation and activate it herself? At least the health drain isn't as fast as it is in most games...

However, the heat isn't what causes my first death in the playthrough though! Yeah, instead this lava fish chase scene will spell my doom! I have no problem with lava killing me so fast, but if I'm gonna move that slow anyway...just make it an instant death, huh?

After all THAT you'd think we'd get authorization for the Varia Suit, eh? But no, Ice Beam time! And right in the middle of a fight! How....stupid. At least the Ice Beam takes care of enemies here! And freezes parts on a lot of them, making enemies like the Space Pirates easier to deal with.

Our expedition into the Pyrosphere will continue next time...and it'll get even stupider from here. Stay cool.
