Today's episode is sponsored to you by the letterK, for Kyratian, another pesky enemy we'll be encountering throughout the Cryosphere. AN odd bipedal...creature that ALSO seems to have some armor attachments, these things are masters of annoying you. From their projectiles to their melee attacks, these things are always on the move and can REALLY hurt if you let them. They can even perform Overblasts on you! The real issue is their force-field, where they glow orange and deflect all attacks. See, for the longest time, I thought they were immune to ALL attacks in that state, but Missiles will knock their shield down. However...sometimes they can reflect attacks anyway, so I think that's where the confusion came from. I took that first one down ridiculously easily, but the later encounters show off their repertoire pretty well, I think. I took to calling the Space Monkeys in my first few playthroughs, for the record.
We continue our trek through the bitter cold, ambushed left and right...not much more to say this time, really. That said..the room with the falling ice platforms demonstrates how..odd the 3D platforming is. I hope it comes across well in the video, but Samus's jumps feel unusually rigid in 3D. Plus, some of those jumps SEEM like they should be easy, but no, you need to bring down some more ice for another foothold. I think I've said it before, but this game REALLY feels like it was going to be in 2D. I would have preferred that, actually.
