Samus's Log: "No sooner than I adapted to the deadly heat in the Pyrosphere, I am summoned to the Cryosphere. I truly pity the staff of this ship; I can only assume the benefits are worthwhile. Maybe they get good dental coverage."

__________

From hot to cold...that's a little odd, right? We JUST got to the Pyrosphere! And we just got the Ice Beam...but it's no less effective here, really. Now, you'd THINK maybe you'd either get a "heat beam" or could maybe turn off the Ice Beam...no dice. I mean, the Plasma Beam IS a take on a "heat beam" but spoilers...we ain't getting authorized for that for a bit.

One thing I've been meaning to comment on...does Samus's base armor color look...off to anyone else? It looks like it has too much of a greenish tint...which is now rendered moot with the Varia Suit activated, but still.

So ice will be the decor of choice here for now and we're going to get introduced to a TON of new enemies back-to-back! First up, Volfrons! These...space rams travel in packs and can pack a punch with their horns, but despite living in the cold...we can freeze them with the Ice Beam. And then they're harmless!

Next up...Fumbleye! A gross...brain tentacle monster, it's attached to this room's ceiling and will attack at range. The thing is immune to our current weapons and I'll say right now...we have to wait QUITE a while before we can hurt it. Instead, we have to go around it.

I'm not sure of the name of these...zappy floating sacks, but they HURT! This is right before we suffer a drop and encounter ANOTHER new mini-boss: Gigafraug. Some odd...merger of a frog, and...shark? The thing either charges at you or leaps RIGHT to you, no matter where you are...unless you attack from the high ground. MAN did I cut that close! Those stupid spike balls didn't make it easy for me to heal though! For the record, Gigafraug's hard head breaks after a Missile or two and THEN you can do an Overblast for massive damage...I just didn't know that in this encounter. They ARE hardy, but I clearly was missing something. I believe you can do a Lethal Strike too to finish it off.

Quite the reception in this place, huh?! Everywhere you look something's trying to kill us! Samus must have a target painted on her back...
