The man, the myth, the legend....is here. LeBron James FINALLY joins MultiVersus! This cast of nostalgic fictional characters is now complete! Or maybe this was just part of his contract for Space Jam 2...

As of yesterday, the Open Beta is in full swing with LeBron added to the mix on TOP of a new rotation of free characters....but it's gonna be all Finn all the time isn't it.

Lebron is an interesting character, honestly! They went pretty ham with his moveset. A Bruiser, LeBron does best in an offensive roll, making use of a stance system that changes his moveset depending on if he's in possession of his basketball or not. Generally speaking, WITH the ball his attacks have a lot of POWER but WITHOUT the ball they tend to have greater RANGE instead. Most of his normal attacks sans ball has him perform a "steal" to get the ball back, and his Specials involve him using the ball for various shots. His Side Special, L-Train, is a particularly powerful dunk that is one of his major kill moves. (I will be calling it the Chaos Dunk. I have to tie this into Charles Barkley Shut Up and Jam Gaiden SOMEHOW). He can even "pass" the ball to his teammates, where they will then fire it off after one of their own attacks. LeBron can then warp to the ball to do a Chaos Dunk for a particularly flashy combo...I'm not good enough to make that happen though. On with the match analysis!

Match 1: Trophy's E.D.G.E. 2

Maybe not the BEST stage for LeBron to start out, since that pit just eats up my basketball. BOY can I not wait for Taz's tornado to be nerfed into the ground. On a stage like this with us so close to the boundary it kills STUPID early. We had it down to the wire here but a desperate Chaos Dunk was just what we needed!

Match 2: Tree Fort

Not gonna lie, I got carried HARD by Shaggy here. Still trying to learn LeBron. His basketball at least is a decent option to get Taz's spinning face away from me but this stage in particular made it kind of hard to do my dunking.

Match 3: Sky Arena

OK I need one more good LeBron match to go out on. I'm kinda proud of my KO at about 07:13. Not quite a snipe but I'll take it! I gotta say though, Taz's tornado might be a pain but like EVERYTHING Finn can do is even worse. Why does he get to be SO fast and have SO much range? Seeing him repeatedly do his backpack spin over and over with no penalty makes me realize why so many moves in Smash would make you helpless afterward. Maybe Sakurai was right all along!

Match 4: Scooby's Haunted Mansion

Matches are always kind of a pain here. It's Melee Temple all over again! And all of our characters can just SWING those fists without a care in the world. Had some issues with Superman's Side Special here. He wouldn't always go where the cursor was pointed; not sure what the deal with that was.

Match 5: Trophy's E.D.G.E.

A lot more space to move about here! My partner here seemed to like accidentally KO himself at points and I'm not sure why. Might be a rollback issue or something but gliding INTO the blast zone isn't really helpful! We pulled out a win here though. Glad to have super armor!

Match 6: Scooby's Haunted Mansion

Not gonna lie, I had some BAD luck with Garnet here. I'm not altogether happy with how she works in this game honestly; she comes across as a bit awkward. Her Down Special lets her teleport back to a star she places which helps with her otherwise awful recovery, but her gauntlet rockets are SUPER slow and always fizzle out when I need them most it feels like. Her shock buff feels a bit undercooked too. That said, she has big fists that can punch forever so I guess I need to use that more. I at least did SOMETHING here but trust me....had some BAD matches before this one. Bit of a cool thing happened here though around 17:52. Velma shoots out her book projectile that lowers our cooldowns...only for Finn's High Five to reflect it BACK...I was wondering why everyone BUT me had a Big Brain for a bit!

I have one more video that's actually from BEFORE this one, but I wanted to get a LeBron video out quickly. Gotta strike while the iron's hot, right? So stay tuned for that!
