As the title says, this was my final night playing the MultiVersus Alpha...and I kind of based my choices of matches around what I had to do to finish the daily missions that were on display.

Set 1: Scooby's Haunted Mansion, Trophy's E.D.G.E. 2
Taz/Superman (me) & Batman (SweetieDown) vs. Steven Universe (Crawlerildr) & Reindog (Borgizen)

I feel...really bad about this. Like a bully! But you see, one mission I had was winning a match without any perks...so after some other attempts I tried it with the overpowered character that still needs to be properly balanced! And uh...man did this first match go super well. I was able to turn BOTH opponents into chicken at the same time and KO them at once.

As for the second match...yeah Superman's a bully too! I had another mission to win a match with a partner using a character from the same universe and with me already having a Batman, may as well do a World's Finest team up!

Match 2: Scooby's Haunted Mansion
Reindog (WonBot_v7) vs. Arya Stark (DanTheMan05_) vs. Bugs Bunny (me) vs. Velma (Zazzi_06)

I went back to Free For Alls to try to net a KO with an item, as that was another mission. I also choose Bugs to up my chances of getting an item...but it never happened so I just rerolled it for something else. This match was still fun though, but also demonstrated how BAD Velma's cop car assist is. Despite the blast zones closing in it still couldn't kill me.

Match 3: Trophy's E.D.G.E. 2
Harley Quinn (me) vs. Taz (KacireWire) vs. Harley Quinn (ThatsJCool) vs. Wonder Woman (GasCabbage420)

I was still trying to get the item KO mission at this point but this was still a fun match to include. There's only room enough for one Harley in this match! Especially with the borders closing in...

Set 2: Trophy's E.D.G.E., Batcave, Tree Fort
Finn (Bazed) & Superman (Spaawn) vs. Garnet (alexmolko4900) & Reindog (me)

Jeez, this didn't start out well. I have had awful luck with Reindog. I feel like everyone just targets him and he has few options to get people off him reliably. He can do decent damage over time with his zoning but when it comes to kill power himself...it's a tad underwhelming. He IS support after all though. I tried to help out Garnet here as much as I could but in the end they ended up giving up in the first match.

Not to be mean here but....I think my partner wasn't very helpful here. I tried rolling up in a ball to be thrown but they weren't having it. My fire attack did a lot of good in doing damage over time and I needed more kills here so like...yeah this is basically the best I've ever done with Reindog here. That second match was CLOSE though! I needed a win with a Support character so that does it for that! Let's...not talk about that final match though, yeah.

Wish I could have went out on a better note but overall I really enjoyed my time with this alpha. The game as it stands looks great, the voice work helps add a lot of charm to things, it plays well and despite some foibles the online seems fairly good. Right now, MultiVersus is a thing I could see myself playing a fair amount of and it is kind of doing everything right. Good netcode, free-to-play, cross-platform AND cross-progression, all with characters people love from a wide range of series. The ONLY problem is the potential the business model will have. I just hope when the game fully releases it isn't TOO greedy or shady with how it tries to get people to pay up. But with Warner Bros. as the publisher I have my doubts. I think the developer, Player First Games, has their heart in the right place but time will tell if the higher-ups force the game to be worse just to line their pockets.

The open beta will be in July, so expect some more coverage of that as we head towards launch. Otherwise, I have no clue what else I'll be putting up in the meantime so....take care until we meet again!
