Now, while I would never be so crass as to say that a life of crime is great fun, I will say though that playing at the same in the nice, safe, and harmless world of video games can be a thrill. And what could be more thrilling than doing just that while partaking in a high-speed car chase through crowded and police-infested streets? So come on and let's take a gander at Redline Rush!

There are a lot of racing games out there, and there are also a lot of games out there where you have to either avoid the police as a a criminal, or chase after a criminal as the police. This game falls under the former category, but it's more than that, as it packs a whole lot more punch than most games in the genre.

As with a lot of these racers, the game is in 3D. The 3D in this game though, is a whole lot better than most other games in the same genre. Each of the different cars have their own special model rather than just being re-textured versions of the same geometry. And it's not just the player-controlled rides that are this detailed, all of the other vehicles on the street are just as meticulously done, with the police cars, civilian rides, and everything in between receiving the same level of attention as the player-controlled ones. The terrains are also really great, with a whole lot going on in even the smallest parts of the tracks.

The music likewise sets a great ambiance for the game. While it's not exactly heart-pumping or adrenaline-coursing, it's still certainly great for the game working well to set the mood. Granted, the music isn't really going to be something you'll be humming hours after playing the game, but it works with the game and you'd notice it if it wasn't there. You've also, of course, got various sound effects for the different things that happen, such as veering off-course, smashing into things, picking up bonuses, etc...

The game doesn't play quite like other racers, as you typically only have to swipe left or right to shift across lanes. As there aren't any sharp turns or the twists and curves commonly associated with racers, you won't have to take into consideration speeding up or slowing down into turns. This can be both a good thing and a bad thing. It can be good because that's one less thing to worry about, making it just a bit easier. On the other hand, because that's it's one less thing to worry about, the developers know they can throw a whole bunch of other things for you to worry about into the mix, packing the tracks with all sorts of obstacles making for a really hectic and manic driving experience. That said, it makes for a really fun and challenging game that you'll spend hours on.

And that wraps it up for this little review. Go on and indulge in a life of crime with some action-packed high-speed chases by getting your hands on a copy of Redline Rush!
