Start winding him up and help him on a new big adventure. Pick up the sword and prepare yourself here in Wind-up Knight 2. Like your last assignments, your knight will run automatically and you need to guide him until you reach the finish line. Jump on the platforms to avoid pits. Use your shield to black falling boulders, arrows, and other attacks from monsters. Use your sword to defeat these monsters. Don't forget to collect the wind-up keys because that is your stamina. Try to collect all the coins in each level and look for secret items to get a rank S.

These days, there seem to be no end to the various endless runners or running games out there. Sure, they're fun, but with the number of runners ou there, it takes some serious effort and style to be able to stand out among the crowd. Wind-Up Knight 2 gives you exactly that with its fun-filled and refreshingly different gameplay.

At first, when you see the name of the game, you might think, "Ooh, a game about knights, cool, probably jousting or hitting people with swords or something." A bit into the game though, you might then change your mind and think, "Bah, just another endless runner. Time to move on." Before you do though, give the game a shot, as it provides some interesting new features and mechanics that are sorely needed in the endless runner genre.

Like many endless runners, the game is in 3D. Unlike a lot of 3D runners though, the game makes great use of the 3D beyond the standard turns and twists of the track. The 3D also looks really spiffy, with lots of stuff to see everywhere that you go. A lot of the environment beyond the main player character also provides visual treats with lots of little animations here and there. It really goes a long way towards making the world come alive, which in turn makes for a better gaming experience.

As with the graphics, the sounds and the music go a long way towards providing more immersion in terms of ambiance for the game. The music is pretty spiffy, with just the right touches of medieval knightly fanfare and just enough fast-paced beat to set the tone for an endless runner. You've also got a lot of different sound effects for the various things that can happen in the game.

The controls are fairly similar to those of most endless runners. You've got buttons on the screen that you tap to do different things. You've got your standard jump which sends you over obstacles and your standard drop and roll under other obstacles. The jump part is a bit different, as you can jump off walls to gain height (this is a game, who cares about real-world physics) or leap up onto other platforms. You can also cling to walls and slide down them (though, perhaps that's not exactly knightly) which you'll often have to time with your wall-jumping to avoid spikes.

Another one of the major difference in this game though are your sword and shield, you are a knight after all, even if you are a wind-up one. The sword will allow you to cut through certain obstacles like errant chickens or whatnot. The shield is raised above you and will shield (duh) you from not so errant projectiles from stuff like catapults or what-have-you. Another difference is that, being a wind-up knight, you can run out of winding. You can replenish this by grabbing the appropriate powerups. Perhaps the most interesting difference is that rather than only running in one direction, you might also at times hit a wall and start going the other way. It might not seem much, but it does shake things up a bit and provide a fresh new take.

So if you're looking for an endless runner that brings a fresh new look to the table, then look no further! Grab yourself a free download of Wind-Up Knight 2, you won't regret it!
