Splatoon 3: Consistent egg counts in Salmon Run [39-38-41, 34/743]
Forget the walls, it's low tide! Steel Eels remain an enigma to me, which is why I don't have that badge yet, but I can splat Stingers quickly. I leave their eggs for the Snatchers, instead bringing a Maws to the basket, and show that I do actually know how to splat Steel Eels. The Lid is left to drop Cohocks for far too long, but at least the Fish Finger is stopped from dropping ink everywhere. That's not the only danger, as I dodge Flyfish Missiles and a Stinger simultaneously, after which I am splatted by a spoony devil. A last bit of splatting and egg dunking finishes the wave.
The Sploosh-o-matic next, which is a mighty little weapon. I ink walls and return to the basket, hoping for the eggs to come, which they don't. Getting splatted for it is a bit silly, though, and least we can throw some of them along their way. A lid is brought down more quickly, and a Steel Eel wanders past for more eggs. There seems to be a lull, so I get some height and spy a Flyfish, but with closing bins I keep looking, settling on a distant Stinger that will only cause problems. It's easily splatted, even if I get caught between a Maws and Steelhead bomb. I get out of that mess and move up on a Flyfish, almost neatly taken out between two of us. With no eggs to get there, it's back to the basket, where a Maws helps bump our total nicely.
On to the final wave, and I get the L-3 Nozzlenose as the tide goes out again. This is a nice selection of weapons. I sit back and hope the bosses will come to us, which they do once it gets a little busy, and the eggs start flowing. I move up at a good time, a Flyfish appearing, but throwing the Splat Bomb off a Cohock doesn't really work. I retreat and help with a Fish Finger instead, splatting it quickly enough to spot the Maws coming for my feet in time. A Steel Eel winds its way to me, but I just about catch its tail to prevent an accident, and I make an excursion to the shore to splat the pesky Stinger. There's just time to focus on collecting eggs, and to get splatted again, before the Run ends with a pretty decent and consistent tally of eggs. Maybe I could have used an Inkstrike earlier, though. Woomy!
