Splatoon 3: Soaking up early pressure in Tower Control [12(7)-3, Explosher]
I'm going to try to keep my range, with the Explosher, so it's no real surprise that the orange team are going to try to close that range. I think I do well to keep the Mini Splatling at bay, but they are not along in pushing up, as the Dapple Dualies releases a Dolphin I can't avoid. They've got the Tower and the turf, it's looking pretty bad for us already. At least I remember my Point Sensor, which helps me flush out the Dapple Dualies, letting them know I know where they are. I think the Point Sensor is going to be crucial, so keep them flying, as I try to keep the turf inked, hoping to hit the odd inkling too.
My squidmates are doing well, keeping the orange team at bay, getting splats. I'm helping from the back, and it looks like we can push the Tower. I'm knocked off pretty quickly, and can't quite get the arc of the Explosher working for me when aiming at the inkling on the wall, but I get a decent splat anyway. My squidmates take over on the Tower too, and I help keep them safe, as we all push the Tower in to the lead. Nice!
The Toxic Mist is annoying, but not much more than that. I send an Ink Storm ahead, and use my range nicely against the Mini Splatling, as we increase our lead further. My attempt to jump on to the pigeon statue doesn't work, so let's pretend I wasn't trying that. I still support from the back, as my squidmates take us in to an excellent lead. I think about keeping it going as the orange team get some splats, but with one of them running around the back to flank us, I focus on that instead. I get one hit, but needed another to splat them. So it goes.
I super-jump back, feeling the momentum is still with us, but we've lost it a little, and the orange team hitting us from a couple of angles manage to move the Tower back towards the centre of the Academy. They don't do much more, not at first, but a Crab on the Tower is tricky to dislodge. The reach the corner, and turn it, piling on the pressure again, but we weather the storm, my squidmates doing most of the work, and our ledge is safe again.
With a Wipeout, we push forwards immediately, and I get my Point Sensors working again. The orange team are working the angles, trying to get splats before moving the Tower, but we prove to be fairly resilient out in the open, spread a little apart, supporting each other. They can't splat the support, and so on moves the Tower. And it keeps moving, almost but not quite extending out lead as time runs out, a squidmate on the Tower to secure us the victory. Woomy!
