Splatoon 3: Ending with unnecesary violence in Rainmaker [17(1)-7, Sploosh-o-matic]
A squad of four, versus, well, who knows how they have been pulled together as a group. My money is on us for the win! I do some defensive inking to start, which really doesn't seem to help, as the orange team surge forwards and I'm splatted. Not great defence, really. At least the orange team are splatted, so I surge back to press forwards, although being hit by a Point Sensor doesn't help. I'm lucky not to be splatted by the falling Slosher. I scoot around to help with the Rainmaker, moving up using inkblasts as cover, and just about splat the Tenta Brolly before they get a bead on me. My squidmates get the Rainmaker to the checkpoint, and some hammering gets me some splats, which I'm hoping will give us a window to steal the lead. A little flanking manoeuvre, and a lot of luck against the Slosher, does just that.
Finding myself against the Tenta Brolly again, I don't rely on luck and pull out the big guns, Hammering my way out of trouble. The Hammer runs out just as the Splatana retaliates with their own. I look to be in trouble, but the inflating Rainmaker Shield could come to my aid, and a quick Curling Bomb inksplodes on contact to save me! Running out of ink helps, in a way, as it lets me dunk in the ink, and then work around the Rainmaker shield to splat the Tenta Brolly from the back, and the Slosher nice and close. I push up to ink the podium, sensing victory, and am routinely splatted by the returning Tenta Brolly.
I super-jump back in to trouble, and can't quite hide far enough away from the approaching Hammer, who also splats our E-litre 4K with a nice throw. I return to focus on the Rainmaker, bursting it free while the orange team look elsewhere. That attracts their attention, though, and grabbing the freed Rainmaker wasn't my best idea. I super-jump a little way and dash ahead, looking for splats. I think I've found a few, turns out to be just the one. Better than none, I suppose. An Ink Vac causes difficulties as I rush back, so I drop down and take the long route around, where no one again seems to be looking out for the Rainmaker. I think I can grab it and run, but I'm wrong about that.
The orange team steals the Rainmaker instead, and makes a fine dash forwards, short-cutting their way in to the lead, and only just stopped by some lucky fall-off damage from my Sploosh-o-matic shooting over the podium. That was close! Now we just have to take the Rainmaker all the way back across the stage. Shouldn't be too difficult! We start by going half-way, and I push ahead looking to flank. That doesn't go to well, maybe because I thought I could get away with not using my Hammer. Why not? It was the perfect time.
We still have the Rainmaker, though, so I super-jump back and try to flank from the other direction. That works a lot better, the orange team not seeing it coming. Two splats from me, two from my squidmates, and that's a Wipeout. The Rainmaker dashes forwards, I ink the podium, and pull out a Hammer for one last very unnecessary splat. Woomy!
