Splatoon 3: Short and long-range in All-Grizzco Salmon Run [29-42-27-xs, 25/789]
What am I doing before these Runs? Get it together, tigerears. I'm happy to have the Splatana, even if it struggles to ink walls, and the floor, because it cuts through anything so easily, and can keep the hordes of Chum down with ease. It also pierces armour, leaving Flyfish exposed to a one-hit splatting. The only downside is its complete lack of range, being a melee weapon, but I'm okay with that. My squidmate with the Stringer really needs to ink the walls, though. I'm not happy about that Maws with the black-hole mouth either, but it happens, and worse is having a Fish Finger our Stringer isn't dealing with right next to the basket. But we meet quota, even if I try to dash one more egg back through a flopping Flipper.
On to the second wave, and I have the longer-ranged Charger. A nice choice, less useful in foggy conditions, though. And that back wall still isn't inked! That doesn't excuse missing the Steelhead and getting splatted by a Chum, but it does make returning to the basket harder. A squidmate with a Charger stops to revive me, getting splatted themself, so I wait to revive them, after which I am splatted. The sequence needs to be broken! Those Stingers ned to be splatted to. We have a Blaster in the mix, and maybe they've gone for one Stinger. I go for the other, and take a bit too much time over it, and in grabbing a couple more eggs. But I return to deal with the Fish Finger, or some of it, as another Stinger stops me. Thankfully, an egg-laden Goldie lets us get beyond quota easily, which lets me just focus on surviving the wave.
I get the Slosher for the final wave. That makes Flyfish my responsibility. I again can't ink walls, though. Fish Fingers aren't a problem, at least, even if it takes a second go. As it's the final wave, I decide to use a Dolphin on the Stinger, which would have worked out better had I noticed my squidmate already splatting it. That's okay, I use my second to revive a squidmate and refill my ink tank, and before long there are eggs by the dozen around the basket. If only I could move away from all the Maws. A Chum gives me a helping tap, which turns in to a smack that splats me, and I'm not the only one. Our one standing squidmate gets the rest of us up, just in time to dunk the final egg needed, and we scrape through another Salmon Run.
But, wait! It's an emergency! Another Splatana for me, which is not helpful against the flying Horroboros. I'll be on boss duty. A Maws is simple, and I move across to help with a Flyfish and Big Shot, which my squidmate doesn't need help with, but the cannon is there to shift the eggs to where they can be better used. The Big Shot cannon can be vital against King Salmonids, so I have no problem sticking around, splatting more bosses, as the eggs can be fired to my squidmates, who can launch them at Horrorboros. It's a shame I muck up a hit on the Drizzler, and a second shot gives the Chum time to hit me again. I am too far from my squidmates to be revived, but they've got the Horrorboros under control, and splatted just as they find me. That'll do. Woomy!
