Splatoon 3: Doing well with tricky weapons in Salmon Run [42-37-49-xf, 28/1260]
Inking walls is difficult with this weapons! But it's got to be done. At least inking Flipper rings is easy, and a nice little cluster of bosses gives us a clutch of eggs early. The Flyfish needs splatting, but to get to it a Lid needs to be brought down, if only my Carbon Roller could splat the Cohocks streaming out of it. I settle for a nice Drizzler splat, jump the gap at the same time so I don't fall on a Steel Eel. The Flyfish has been splatted by the time I work my way around there, so I help with the Scrappers and Flippers, and dunk a few more eggs. A good start to the Run!
The Goo-tuber is next, which is nice but a little niche for Salmon Run. A Flyfish is an easy start, some Smallfry cause me problems, and I choose another Flyfish over a Stinger. That Stinger won't go away by being ignore, though, so I drop to splat it, and find out how strong the Goo-tuber is against it. No charge needed! I like that. I move on to dropping a Lid, and splat a second while up there, just about splatting the first as I am ladled off. I start delivering eggs, and hope a Maws by the basket helps, only for a Scrapper to Splat Bomb block me. I run away, jink back, and get more eggs in the basket. I help with another Stinger, but get caught between Cohocks and start running. We've hit quota, it's not a problem.
On to the third wave! Another slow weapon, but at least it has some range for a Mothership wave. Let's hope the quick, short-range weapons are focussed on delivering eggs. Specials come out for the Mothership's approach, which seems sensible, but I rather waste a bit of time and ink on Snatchers. We have enough eggs lying around to bother splatting those already taken out to sea. More Specials for the Mothership, and a last flurry of egg-dunking occurs, giving us a good total for the... oh, not the final wave!
Here comes the Zuna, and here's me with a Reef-lux. I may as well hit it with my squidgy tentacles. But I can do what I can, and splat some bosses, particularly the distant Stingers. The eggs are too far away to do much good, though, and heading back sees bosses I can't help much with, neither with the Reef-luxn nor my Wave Breaker. But I keep plugging away, helping with bosses, throwing dropped eggs. It doesn't help when I forget how to throw my Wave Breaker, but at least it revives me. We haven't done enough damage, though, and can't squeeze in that many eggs late in the battle, leaving the King Salmonid free to wreak havoc as we head home.
