The Raven (PS4) - mysterious disappearance of Constable Zellner
7Just a small glitch that you can use to softlock the game. This works on both the patched and unpatched versions of the game.
It's possible to overlap the inventory screen and the notebook menu by just pressing their respective buttons simultaneously. This allows you to use or examine items while reading the notebook.
Most of the time nothing special happens, but there are a few items which do something unique when you try to examine them. Case in point: if you try to read the newspaper while you're outside, Zellner comments that that's not a good idea and then you're teleported back inside the train.
If you read the newspaper outdoors and become teleported with the notebook open, the camera is returned indoors but Zellner is nowhere to be found. Most likely explanation is that he is still stuck outside, immobile and out of reach of any prompts as well. But it's impossible to know for sure.
(If you now try to read the newspaper again, it works. So at least the game thinks Zellner is back indoors at the moment.)
0:53 - If you do this glitch and then start reading the newspaper again while the screen is fading out, the text box glitches up in the process. This results in a true softlock, with both Zellner missing and menus disabled as well.
