Yakuza: Like a Dragon abandoned the Yakuza series' past as an action brawler in favour of turn-based RPG style gameplay. But did you know that there's a story reason behind the turn-based combat in this amazing JRPG? The game's protagonist, Ichiban, is himself a Dragon Quest fan and thinks of his life as a hero's journey in a Dragon Quest game; and Dragon Quest is, of course, a turn-based RPG and one of the main inspirations for the combat system in Yakuza: Like a Dragon! So when we control Ichiban in turn-based combat, we are actually able to see him in the way that he interprets himself ... as a hero in a Dragon Quest game!
