Yes I thought it would be fun to have a quiz to see off the end of this year. This isnt meant to be a downer on the community, and these terms are so widely spoken differently that it would be hard to change how people say them now, so please dont be too upset if you say things differently.
This idea was originally narrated in the Fall of 2016, using my old microphone, while making the Amiga: Quantum Leap series. I noticed a lot of people had different ideas on how to say the same things during my research, so I dictated these down for later. The project then sat on the shelf for 14 months while I made my doco and also started series 4 of the Playguides.
After Christmas 2017s Shoot Em Up specials, I decided to dust off this old project. I'd added a bonus item in September using the new microphone, but apart from that, the audio sounded very hissy and very low quality. If I had known this, I might not have used the Mic for Quantum Leap, which many say sounds bad. I originally planned to incorporate video into this, like when Leonard Tramiel says "Its Tra-Mel - like Done Well" at CommVEx v11 2015, but although I played the video through, I just could NOT find where he says it. Other ideas of people saying DB-9 instead of DE-9 were also not included, as there are too many examples of this on the internet already. I know Ms Mad Lemon said it many times in a recent video, but I didnt have the heart to use this example. Yes, the DB-9 socket really does not exist, and actually never did exist.
After adding the images and searching for examples, I used a pronunciation tool on the internet to record a few examples of the terms. The audio is quiet in places, and I changed the background music at the last minute to Progressive-Funk by Moby, as the original music was getting on my nerves. This wasnt quite long enough for the 11mins, so I added a Mod version of Madonna's Vogue to end the video - and it was unlucky youtube noticed this.
Thank you again for watching this rather off-the-cuff video, hope to see you in 2018.
