Metal Law (Amiga) - A Playguide and Review - by LemonAmiga
Metal Law is a polished run and gun platformer, made by Kaiko. The music is by Chris Hulsbeck, and the gameplay is very much in the Turrican style. What could be better!!?
Production Notes:
Ripped: 24th and 26th July 2016
Edited: 6th November 2017
Following on from Super Gen Z last week, we look at another Kaiko demo game, more like a souped up version of The Adventures of Quik and Silva. All the elements are there to make this a classic, but something always seemed to spoil the fun.
I had one try on the 24th of November, but this didnt go well, and ended on level 1 - thanks to me trying to get the extra life. I think the footage for this is shown in the first part of this video. Two days later I tried again, and this time made it to level 3. The game requires a level of patience with the controls, and there are two key areas in the game where it is possible to repeatedly die like me, and both are because of blind double jumping.
In the narration I mention how the New Bits on the Ram logo is like the Bitmap Brothers logo. What I dont mention is the fact the New Bits logo features a one finger salute (e.g. a F*** You), and this is present on all of the New Bits On The Ram games in plain sight.
Bugs: Im sure there will be some - and verbal waffling, as there usually is, so I can sometimes say one thing, but mean another.
