Archaeologists have unearthed more lost artifacts of the ancient proto-hololive culture
[Translator’s notes, source links, gushing and more below.]

Original stream: Obviously long since purged, but I can still link Aki’s tweet: https://twitter.com/akirosenthal/status/1115998151926632448

Picture used in this video and the original stream: Aki tweeting the version with her eyes closed is the closest thing to a source I could find for this: https://twitter.com/akirosenthal/status/1115726889933361152

Gushing:
So sweet, so cute, so hot, Aki’s level on every metric is insane here. I can’t help but fall for her more and more every time I rewatch this. The ending is so bittersweet tho, watching this in the future with hindsight as to how everything turns out as one of a few surviving relics of anything from that ancient era (let alone ASMR) is pretty heart-wrenching for me. Unless something major changes, everyone will remain unsatisfied, forever. May we see each other even in our dreams indeed, Aki...

Usual disclaimers:
I make these clips in large part to practice my not so great Japanese. My friend Cherem helps me with them which I really appreciate and makes them a lot better. I like to leave detailed translator’s notes to provide extra explanations and help people understand why I chose to translate certain things in certain ways.

Timestamp to make it so youtube doesn't interpret my TNs as “chapters”: 16:04

Translator’s notes:
1:50 Of course, this is “hello” in Chinese. It really dates the stream so clearly, you sure don’t hear holo girls saying that anymore!
1:55 “Alona” is Aki’s custom greeting, a combination of “aloha” (from Hawaiian) and a greeting in Elvish.
2:10 She talks earlier in this stream about how it's around the season when people are changing jobs, school is starting, etc.
4:09 Here she means to say “ittara” (past conditional, ‘if I said…’ or ‘when I said…’), but accidentally says “ittanda” (past explanatory, ‘I said…’ in the context of explaining something).
4:18 “Kami” in this context is literally “bite,” but it gets used to refer to fumbling your words, especially during a broadcast or other public speaking setting like this. Aki really likes this syntax of repeating a word like that with “e~lf” on the end to lightly poke fun at herself.
13:16 “Gochisousama” is the shorter form of “gochisousama deshita,” the post-meal counterpart to “itadakimasu,” and comes with the same spiritual connotations. However, in addition to being less well-known among English-speakers, “gochisousama” actually translates literally into English fairly well, as “treat” in this case can refer to either the meal being delicious or being paid for by someone else, just like in English.
15:23 Not too complicated since you just heard her say “oyasumi,” but “oyasuminthal” is Aki’s custom goodnight phrase, a combination of “oyasumi” (‘goodnight’) and “-nthal” from her family name “Rosenthal.”
15:31 Once again not too complicated but here she modifies “oyasumi” into “oyachumi” for a sillier, cutesier way of saying it. (So cute.)
