We've heard it sprinkled throughout the game, right? "Have the courage to disobey." What does that mean? I mean, it's pretty clear what it means, but what, exactly, are we supposed to disobey?

The obvious answer is Airy. Through Ringabel's recovered memories, we know that what we're doing is going to lead to the destruction of the world. We've heard that sending the crystals out of control is what will bring about the Harrowing. We've tried doing what Airy said several times and it hasn't worked yet.

It's time to draw on other things we've been told: if Agnès continues to pray past the point where Airy tells her to stop, the crystal will shatter. However, at least with a crystalline core, it will eventually grow back. Eventually.

Despite Airy's protests, Agnès pours all her energy into destroying the crystal. Airy reveals her true form, and the other three move to protect Agnès. Unfortunately, they're no match for her, and though Agnès succeeds in shattering the crystal, she can't stand up to Airy either.

Airy decides to call forth the Dark Aurora over the Great Chasm and departs, while our party receives a blessing from an angel to grant them new life. It's time to head there ourselves and stop Airy once and for all.

You'll have to forgive me for not bothering to fight the random encounters in the Dark Aurora. I just didn't think it was worth my time, y'know?

Through the path of teleporters, we find Airy waiting. She says it'll take another 5000 years for the crystal to grow back, but she's willing to wait if it means torturing us. Let's end this.

So, Airy is weak to fire, which is kinda funny; you wouldn't expect a final boss to have an elemental weakness, right? She likes to use Tight Bind to inflict stop and Slaughter to do a party-wide physical attack that can poison, followed by Poison Punisher, which is my thing, stop that. She also likes to put up a Spike Guard, which is a counter stance that lasts a few turns.

But that's not all. Beat her up and she'll reveal her true form. In this form, she likes to use status effects like Charm and elemental weakness to everything and even berserk.

Eventually, she'll be defeated, and as she disappears, she warns that her lord is still coming. That's a problem for thousands of years from now, though, and our heroes can return with their heads held high. It turns out that the Great Chasm is actually a portal to other worlds, and our gang can return to any world they wish.

The world is safe... for now.

But what if we did things differently? Stay tuned.
