BZCC Total Command Mod Gameplay - Mission SS15: Strike at the Heart
The Black Dogs finally defeated the Chinese Red Army on Ganymede, but the Bio-metal war is not over yet, and its most terrifying chapter is only escalating in intensity. The NSDF and the CCA are ready to take on the offensive against the Furies. After collecting enough Bio-metal and studying their combat behavior, they came up with a Battle Plan to try and beat them. The Furies seem to be so frantic and thrilled by inflicting damage that they don't attack using rational tactics. Instead, they just hunt down their targets, wherever they go. Therefore, a risky, but feasible strategy against them, is to lure them out of their posts with a minor force while a stronger squad breaks in and wreaks havoc in their bases. And the joint NSDF and CCA Commands found the ideal target to try out this novel approach: a Captured CCA Base that was converted into a Fury Production Facility. Grizzly 1 was sent to carry out the assault against the Alien Installation, although the Furies seem to have more than enough forces to repel this audacious strike. However, General Karnov promised General Collins to send CCA Reinforcements, but due to their losses they won't tell more information about them. In the meantime, it is assumed that he will be a man of his word and the NSDF will know soon enough when the reinforcements enter the quadrant where the battle is taking place.
This mission was one of my favorites in the original game, but I won't say I was fond to have my ship destroyed by each Fury attack wave in either version, because that part wasn't actually fun. The Furies attack immediately in both versions, so it is imperative to start building defenses as quickly as possible. It is also problematic that they throw Day Wreckers too, let alone that their attack waves are already hard to deal with. Also, the CCA Reinforcements are pretty much the same in both versions (three units per wave), but due to the possibility of building much more units than in the original game, these reinforcements seem a little light, except when they send the Golem squad. Overall, I think this version is harder than the original, although I must say that I liked the mixture of Soviet and Alien Buildings in the enemy base. It really feels like it was originally an installation that produced Hybrid Vehicles, which were the original concept for the CCA adaptation of the Fury Technology.
Will the Battle Plan work and provide mankind a chance against this mindless, but technologically superior enemy?
