When it comes to playing video games, people often tend to either play PC games, be a member of the PC Master Race, or play home consoles. While there is some crossover between the 2, rarely do the 2 gamer types cross paths. Was there a time when you can remember when and why you gravitated towards PC Games or Consoles? I've been a console gamer pretty much my whole life, and here's why.

When I was little, like younger than 3, my family had a Pong Machine, which was something that many families had in the late 70s and early 80s. From there, we had an Atari 2600, from authentic Atari hardware to Sears clone systems. I played games like Defender, Pac-Man, The Empire Strikes Back and more, and while it was ok, it wasn't until a little grey box from Nintendo wound up under the Christmas tree.

When I was in 4th or 5th grade, my folks got me an NES and this ignited my passion for home consoles. I played so many hours of Super Mario Bros 1 - 3, Duck Hunt, RC Pro Am, Mega Man, The Legend of Zelda, and more. This was truly my introduction to my passion for video games and opened the door for me for things like the Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, PlayStation, PS2, GameCube, and even to today with the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.

We never had a computer when I was a kid, in fact, I never had a computer until I was 18. When my mom passed away from Cancer, she left me some money and wanted me to get a computer. I bought a unit from Milwaukee PC, a 486 DX2 with a Sound Blaster sound card and a 540MB hard drive. This was high power in 1995! I did get games for it, such as Star Wars: Tie Fighter, X-Wing, X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter, and Papyrus's Indycar Racing and NASCAR Racing. It was ok, but I never fell in love with PC Gaming, even to this day, like I did with home consoles. My friend Chris had an Apple GSII and, it was ok, but even on that we played things like Oregon Trail and some text adventure games.

Which are you a bigger fan of, PC gaming or Console gaming? Share your story in the comments!
