Exit Fate #33 - Elemental Mansion
Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.

Time for the Elemental Mansion just east of Cento Temple.
As expected with the dungeon name, the name of the game with random encounters is a select choice of elementals.
Black Elementals have a fairly powerful physical attack, can cast Poison for some ailment shenanigans, or use Shadowcast which won't hit too hard on low mdef characters due to how it loses power when targeting big groups like a team of six.
White Elementals can rack up the damage pretty quick with multiple Icicle castings on the same column, but are otherwise fairly quick to take down.
Water Elementals are probably the most annoying. Multiple Splash casts can really wear down a physical frontline, but the real annoyance is Whirlpool. Can hit anyone on your team for some decent damage and the silence status. You may want to keep an extra mage in the back row to swap in if one of your main ones gets struck by silence.
The main gimmick of this dungeon revolves around two sections of the mansion, one revolving around water, the other around ice. In each section is a pedestal that needs to be interacted with to fight a small group of elementals and disable it. With both pedestals shut down, the door straight north from the entrance opens up, leading to the boss.
For the water section, you'll see blue blobs on the floor. Ramming into one sends you into battle with a Deep Puddle. Has very high physical defense, but characters like Bast or Shiro can punch through that defense.
The real danger is twofold with them. Lots of hp for something with high physical defense and has Frostwave, the second tier ice spell, which hits pretty hard.
Luckily for the blue blobs in the first few rooms, they don't move so you can maneuver carefully around them. There's one hallway with them moving where it's very difficult to avoid ramming into one and one room where you have to dispatch at least one of them to reach a chest that's being heavily guarded (but said chest is a Quartz Amulet which is very nice).
For the ice section, it's nothing more than your typical ice mechanics where you slide across in the direction you're facing anytime you step onto ice until you get on normal ground.
When you have both pedestals disabled, save your game in the main hall and head straight north down the center lane to reach the boss...or should I say bosses.
The team runs into the three individuals responsible for causing chaos at Cento Temple (Boris, Ice, and Orlando). Orlando seems particularly interested in Deus for some reason, but before too much can be revealed, the so called leader of the Caretakers warps in, Tiamat. Cue the fight finally kicking off!
This fight can actually pose a serious threat. Four unique targets, each with their own gimmick.
Orlando is pretty pathetic offense wise, but he serves as the team's support with defense buffing spells and some status ailment spells. Annoying if he hits someone like a mage with silence, but otherwise probably the least dangerous of the bunch.
Next up, Boris is the physical muscle of the group. He's got a row attack that doesn't hit too hard as well as a single target physical strike in Thunder Flail which has a chance to inflict paralysis.
Then, we have the two biggest threats in Ice & Tiamat. Ice has Frostwave which can really sting on low mdef fire innate characters like Bast, but Tiamat has a potentially more dangerous move, Chaos Claw. Hits a target and inflicts chaos which is not fun, especially when the Balance spell is the only way to get rid of the ailment and they're not exactly cheap.
They do all share one rather hilarious trait...sometimes, they just throw away their turns doing useless actions.
As for who to take out first, it's a toss up between Ice or Tiamat. If you have a good 3-4 copies of Balance to counteract chaos, then it's probably better to focus down Ice. Doing so removes damn near all hope for the Caretakers to easily knockout anyone short of Tiamat hitting someone with chaos.
As for stealables, Boris has a Chain Belt (+20 hp), Tiamat a Brass Ring, Ice a copy of Frostwave, and Orlando has a copy of Waterfall.
After the fight, the Caretakers leave, but clearly Orlando's feud with Deus isn't over by a longshot. At the very least Cento Temple should be safe now, but before heading back to fill in Galius on the mission, head back to the boss room in the Elemental Mansion. To the north is a room with a chest holding the top tier single target healing item, the Purple Herb. Restoring 2k hp, it's the kind of item you'll want to pocket for endgame content.
